This project was born from the need to integrate the Internet of Things into a new range of professional electric machines for gardening and agriculture. Through the development of two mobile applications and a cloud infrastructure, the company was able to introduce new smart features, simplify equipment management, and collect valuable data for continuous product optimization.
The client
The client is a major Italian industrial group involved in the design and distribution of gardening, agricultural, and forestry machinery worldwide.
The company offers a wide range of solutions, from home gardening equipment to professional machines for green maintenance and specialized operators. With a focus on innovation and sustainability, it has recently launched a new line of high-performance electric products aimed at combining efficiency, power, and environmental responsibility.
The challenge
With the goal of innovating its offering and delivering added value to its customers, the company launched a new line of high-performance electric machines, equipped with brushless motors and next-generation lithium batteries.
To enhance the user experience and offer simpler tool management, the need emerged to introduce smart features.
The new machines had to be configurable by dealers at the point of sale or during service, while end users needed access to real-time device status, receive maintenance alerts, and monitor performance in the field.
The solution
To support this project, we developed a complete IoT platform composed of two mobile applications—one for dealers and one for end users—and a scalable cloud infrastructure based on AWS. The system securely collects and analyzes data through cloud-based dashboards that provide insights and performance analytics.
The applications support the following functions:
● Easy and fast device configuration by dealers.
● Real-time monitoring of machine status via smartphone.
● Maintenance notifications and automatic reminders based on usage hours.
● Access to always-updated manuals and technical documentation.
● Integrated geolocation to view the last known position of each device.
For dealers, the platform is an advanced tool for configuration and support, simplifying operations and enabling more timely, personalized service. The cloud infrastructure manages continuous data streams, integrates them into analytics dashboards, and provides actionable insights for improving product performance and quality over time.

The project enabled the transformation of a high-performance product line into intelligent, interconnected solutions, with direct impact on operational efficiency and customer satisfaction through:
