Mobile Software Applications

Since its foundation, in 1999, Omnys carried out studies on  mobile technologies and their use in several areas and sectors: Leisure, Commercial, Industry, Publishing, Clothing / Footwear, Hotelier, Services.

Omnys developed Sales Force and Workforce Automation solutions and customised software for logistics, based on:

• handheld devices
• several mobile accessories: such as portable printers, bar-code readers, RFID tag readers, GPS devices, etc.
• proprietary synchronisation framework over wireless netwroks (GPRS, UMTS, WiFi, etc.)
• custom client interfaces.

Omnys, in addition, is registered to Apple's iPhone Developer Program.

Omnys also developed some WAP applications mainly in the Leisure/Entertainment area, such as the wap site of Italian Big Brother first edition (year 2000) for Omnitel2000, an old division of  mobile telephone company Omnitel (now Vodafone), and the "Trackdial" project , in collaboration with ETA Studios, for SoundNet, one of the main European providers of audio and video content for shops, pubs, bars, clubs and public events.

The interest in the mobile technology sector is also demonstrated by our involvement in several European-funded Research &  Technological Development projects, looking at the study of new paltforms and methodologies and prototypes development which have been selected by the European Commission to enter the European data bank of success stories.
