Website Structure
The website contents structure and organisation are highly intuitive: the structure is displayed as a tree. It is also possible to view two different website trees contemporarily, where one tree can be the website in another language or the website viewed in "staging" and in "production" mode.
THE NODES of the tree
There is a Nodes toolbar with a variety of nodes available: each node concerns a specific function, for example, a page, a documents container, a form, a news section, a login node, or any other custom node.
For each node you can manage both content and graphic layout where the latter is displayed as a schematic form inside Platinum. By dragging & dropping the operator can exactly place the components within the page layout (e.g.: lists of documents, news, banners, login boxes etc.).
For each node you can:
- define which operators can edit and approve the content (workflow)
- set a predefined graphics template
- see a preview
- set HTTPS-based secure content distribution
The GRAPHICS COMPONENTS
In each node there is a Graphics Components (GC) toolbar with a variety of GC available: each Graphics Component is a specific configurable object, e.g. a highlight, a documents list, a photogallery, or any other custom GC.
The DOCUMENTS
In each node there is a Documents toolbar with a variety of Documents available: each document represents a specific content type, e.g. a physical file (pdf, doc, zip, etc.), a html page body, a link, or any other custom Document format.
WYSIWYG Editor
The page editor is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor. It is based on TinyMCE, a XHTML-based editor. It is the most complete Open-Source editor available today on the web and it had been integrated directly into Platinum.
It allows maximum flexibility in content editing, such as defining content areas as non-editable.

Page Versioning
The Platinum CMS allows you to manage page versions of your website, by storing a copy whenever a modification occurs. This important feature allows you to restore old versions of a page.
Multi-language support
Platinum can manage a multi-language site, with the possiblity to generate a new language automatically starting from an already existing language. Platinum duplicates an existing site tree structure.
The supported char-set is UTF-8 which allows you to manage both Western and Eastern languages.
Embedded SEO techniques
Platinum offers a number of functions to optimise website contents in order to be well-indexed by the most well-known search engines. Specifically, Platinum allows you:
-
to manage automatically or let the operator specify the page friendly URL: it is known that search engines give a higher rank to pages whose URL does not contain query string parameters, but only descriptive text which improves user-friendliness;
-
to manage URL rewriting through the back-end, a useful feature when you want to make a correspondence between the old website URLs and the new website ones (so that your website rank does not get lost);
-
to specify the page Title (displayed on top of the browser window);
-
-
to automatically generate the XML sitemap (used especially by Google to index a website);
-
to autonomously include the Google Analytics javascript code (or similar tools).
